Skobenko Oleksandr Vasylovych Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor. He was born March 18, 1969 in Novogrodivka, Donetsk region. He left a high school and went to Selidov Mining College in 1984, where he acquired a profession of Mining Electromechanician. After graduating with honors in 1988, he worked at the mine "Novogrodivska" No. 2 in the electromechanical service. In 1988, Skobenko O.V. was enrolled in the specialty "Construction of mines and underground structures" at the Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute. In 1993, he graduated with honors and in the same year embark on postgraduate studies. After graduation in 1996, he was appointed to a position of Assistant at the Department of Construction of Mines and Underground Structures. In 2001, he defended his PhD thesis (supervisor – Prof. O.M. Shashenko) and was transferred to a position of Associate Professor of that department. Skobenko O.V. delivers lectures on the following disciplines: “Technology of construction of large cross-section mining openings”, "Special methods of construction of urban underground objects", "Mining works", "Rock Physics" for students of the Mining Institute and Faculty of Construction, gives practical and laboratory classes, guides practical training and pre-graduation practice, and is a supervisor of design projects and diploma work. Since 1998 till 2019 Oleksandr Skobenko was a Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Construction. He is a Dean since 2019. He is engaged in research activities, takes part in state and contract-based research. Scientific interests: mining mechanics, mining stability, mining technology for mines and underground facilities. Skobenko O.V. is the author of two textbooks, four monographs, and more than 50 scientific works and study guides.
He was awarded with “Mining Glory” medal of the 3rd degree, O.M. Dynnyk Medal, and has a number of honor diplomas from the administration.
